Bienvenidos!

I began the University of Washington Teacher Education Program in August 2007 to earn an endorsement in Secondary Spanish. During the first two quarters I observed and assisted in Spanish I and II and English Language Learner classrooms at Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, WA and Tillicum Middle School in Bellevue, WA. My student teaching internship took place in Spanish II, III and AP Spanish Literature at Bellevue High School in Bellevue, WA. My students ranged from 8th to 12th grade. Bellevue’s World Language department focuses on the Natural Approach and classes are instructed in an immersion style.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Portuguese Studies, from the University of Washington, in 2006. During my undergraduate career I was fortunate to study in both Madrid and Cádiz, Spain. Since graduating, I have continued studying Spanish language and culture in San Sebastián, Spain and Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. I hope to earn an endorsement in ELL or Bilingual Education in the near future.

This website contains samples of work from my student teaching experience, as well as my philosophy of education and thoughts on classroom management. Links to some of my favorite Spanish web resources, newspapers and cultural sites can also be found, as well as photos from my own travels.
